      <image:title>About Me - Hi, I’m Emily Thompson.</image:title>
<image:caption>I am an experienced mathematics tutor and teacher located in Warren County, NJ. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in math and literature from the College of New Jersey. Throughout my years as a high school teacher, I have been fortunate to have my hand in a wide array of courses at a variety of levels, including Foundations of Algebra, Algebra I and II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Geometry. I believe in standards-based instruction and am fluent with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards/Common Core State Standards for Secondary Mathematics. During my time at TCNJ, I worked as a tutor for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics as well as the campus Tutoring Center. I worked with students enrolled in math courses including Precalculus, Calculus I-III, Statistical Inference, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, and Number Theory. In addition, I conducted weekly Praxis Core review sessions for aspiring educators. I have also previously worked as an instructor at a local Mathnasium Learning Center. Additionally, I have spent several summers working with the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, working with several classes of gifted students, ages 12-16. I started as a teaching assistant before later becoming an instructor. My main focus was a multidisciplinary course called Paradoxes and Infinities, and I also had the opportunity to be the TA for a Number Theory course.
